TVS Motor Company has posted an increase of 12.4 per cent in two wheeler sales 201,233 units during the month of January 2016, as compared to 179,036 units sold during January, 2015. The company recorded 12.1 per cent growth in total sales in January 2016 at 2,08,485 units, an increase from 1,85,997 units registered in January 2015.
The company's total exports registered 39.1 per cent growth to 34,823 units in the month of January 2016 as compared to 25,029 units recorded in January 2015. Two wheeler exports grew by 51.2 per cent to 29,071 units during the first month of 2016 from 19,232 units a year ago. Domestic two-wheeler sales grew by 7.7 per cent with sales increasing from 159,804 units in January 2015 to 1,72,162 units in January 2016.
Scooter sales of the company grew by 14.1 per cent to 62,552 units in January 2016 from 54,830 units sold during the previous January. Motorcycles recorded 19.9 per cent growth with sales increasing from 69,564 units to 83,374 units in January 2016. The three wheeler sales of the company registered growth of 4.2 per cent at 7,252 units in January 2016 from 6,961 units registered during the same month last year.
