Toyota also sees 2016 sales remaining flat

Toyota Motor Corp has said it expects group-wide global vehicle sales to stay flat in 2016 at 10.11 million vehicles, probably keeping it ahead of rivals Volkswagen and General Motors as the world's top-selling automaker, agencies reported. Global sales at the group, which includes mini-vehicle maker Daihatsu Motor Co and truck maker Hino Motors Ltd, is expected to be 10.10 million vehicles this year, Toyota said in a statement on Wednesday. Group-wide production is likely to rise about 1 per cent to 10.20 million vehicles, Toyota said. On Tuesday, Hyundai Motor Group chairman Chung Mong-koo said the outlook for the global car market in 2016 was not very bright.
