The full Monte

May 24. Monte Carlo, Monaco

Brawn GP's Jenson Button took his fifth victory of the season at Monaco, untroubled from the start to the finish. Ferrari seem to have regrouped after a lacklustre start to the season and were in strong form at Monaco with Kimi Raikkonen next to Button on the front row. However, a less than perfect start for the Finn saw the other Brawn of Rubens Barrichello steal second spot, preventing the Ferrari from hassling the leading Brawn.

In the early laps, the Brawns pulled away and there was nothing the chasing Ferraris could do about it. During the race, as the pit stops progressed, many drivers led the race, but eventually it was the two Brawns that crossed the finish line ahead of the rest of the field, registering Brawn GP's third one-two finish of the season. Raikkonen finished third, followed home by team mate Felipe Massa, while Mark Webber, Nico Rosberg, Fernando Alonso and Sebastien Bourdais filled the rest of the points positions. Last year's winner Lewis Hamilton started from last on the grid, thanks to a crash in qualifying, and could only finish 13th.
