Tata launches the Venture MPV!

Tata Motors today launched the Venture MPV in Mumbai today, making Maharashtra only the second market after Rajasthan. Priced at Rs 5.07 lakhs, ex-showroom, Thane, the Venture is powered by a 1.4-litre TDi diesel engine as found on the Indigo and Indica Turbo. It produces 69 bhp@4500 rpm and 13.7 kgm@2500 rpm.

The Venture's aggressive price is thanks to its sub 4 metre length that helps the vehicle fall in the 10 per cent excise bracket. Targetted at users who have looked at MUVs in the Rs 5-6 lakh as well as hatchbacks, Tata Motors claims that the Venture offers good space and features at a competitive price. It also is the only MPV in its class to meet frontal crash norms in India.

The Venture comes in5,7 and 8 seater options with upto 3 front-facing rows. It has a two-row HVAC unit, music system and a collapsible steering unit. It also has power steering, power windows, reverse parking aid, keyless entry and engine immobiliser.  The unique feature is its plug-in windows, a glass within glass unit found on vans like the VW Caravelle.

The turning circle of the Venture is 4.5 metres while the ARAI fuel efficiency figure stands at 15.42 kpl. Tata Motors has launched the Venture in three trims - CX, EX and GX. The top-end variant of the Venture is priced at Rs 5.07 lakhs, ex-showroom, Thane with 5 colours to choose from.
