Mahindra & Mahindra has launched two new scooters for the Indian market. Called the Rodeo and the Duro, they’re both an addition to the Mahindra two-wheelers lineup. The scoots have been developed with inputs from SYM in Taiwan as well as Italy’s Engines Engineering. Mahindra & Mahindra is trying to jazz up its lineup in a bid to capture more of the lucrative scooter market, currently dominated by Honda and TVS offerings. The scooters are powered by an 8-hp 125cc engine, which is better displacement than most of the other offerings in the market, primarily 100cc scooters. On the Rodeo, a digital console incorporates a trip meter, tachometer and a clock while a USB port cum mobile charger is also provided for your precious celly. The mirrors are also claimed to be un-breakable. A side stand reminder buzzer is also included. The Duro on the other hand, is billed as a very practical scooter, with a claimed biggest fuel tank in segment as well as the widest wheelbase coupled with generous storage space. An array of colours are on offer and the prices stand at Rs. 41,299 (ex-showroom Pune) for the Rodeo while the Mahindra Duro is available for Rs. 38,299 (ex-showroom Pune). Mahindra’s expansion into the two-wheeler market with their acquisition of Kinetic two-wheelers is aiming to extend the Mahindra DNA into a new segment altogether.
