So, there we have it, Skoda has finally started showing some official photos of the upcoming Octavia. This upgrade is way overdue, as the current Octavia (Laura here) has been around for 6 years now and even with constant updates, it's about time for a completely new model.
Of course, with these teasers, they aren't revealing too much. So far, we know what the tail-lights will look like and what the C-pillar looks like, which is not much, but it does tell us that this will be a pretty sharp looking car, overall. There are already plenty of spy photos of the car abound, but officially, these are all the tid bits you get.
Engine choices for international markets range from 1.2, 1.6 and 2.0-litre petrol engines and 1.6 and 2.0-litre diesels mated to either 5 or 6-speed manual transmissions and a 6-speed DSG 'box.
A full unveiling of the car is not too far off, so keep watching this space for more updates as they come in, who knows, next week, we might even get to know what the A-Pillar looks like.
The new Octavia is set to come into India in 2013 and when it comes in, it will be the first car to bear Skoda's new design language in India and incidentally, it will also be the first car in India based on VWs MQB architecture, so that's somethign to look forward to.
