Datsun has announced that it will unveil a new car in Jakarta, Indonesia on September 17. It will be the first of two models to go on sale in Indonesia in 2014. This new Datsun car was developed locally, backed-up by Nissan Motor Company's global technical experience and expertise to meed the needs of the new generation of aspirational customers in Indonesia. The company also said that the new-generation of Datsun models are modern, attractive, accessible and reliable.
Datsun also mentioned that the new model will be priced below 100 million Indonesian rupiah (approximately Rs. 5.90 lakh). Nothing has been revealed about the type of the car to be unveiled in Indonesia, but there is a strong probability that the company might introduce a compact 7-seater MPV based on the Go. The MPV segment is growing well in the Indonesian market, and Datsun also wants to capitalize on the same. A compact sedan based on Go might also be a surprise.
Just for reminder, the revival of the Datsun brand and the world premier of Datsun Go was happened here in India. The company unveiled the Go hatchback on July 15, and is expected to hit the Indian shores by the early 2014.
