Indian markets were trading higher in Thursday's morning session, helped by buying in metal counters.
The S&P BSE Sensex jumped 120 points, or 0.3 per cent, to 41,430 levels. Tata Steel, UltraTech Cement (both up 1%) and Bharti Airtel (up 0.9%) were the top gainers. On the other hand, Titan Company (down 1%) was the top laggard.
The broader Nifty50 index was hovering around 12,220 levels, up 36 points, or 0.3 per cent.
Almost all the Nifty sectoral indices were trading in the green, led by Nifty Metal index, up 1 per cent.
In the broader market, the S&P BSE MidCap index gained 32 points, or 0.2 per cent, and the S&P BSE SmallCap index was up 58 points, or 0.4 per cent.
