Suzuki Motorcycle India Private limited has launched two new products at the 2012 Auto Expo - a motorcycle called the Hayate and a scooter called the Swish 125.
The 'Hayate', Japanese for 'Fresh breeze' or 'Swift wind', is a 110 cc motorcycle that is targeted at first-time motorcycle owners and also at people who want a competent and frugal commuter. Pricing for the Hayate hasn't been announced as yet.
The Swish 125 is a scooter for the urban youngster and also for the young modern couple of India. Power comes from a 4-stroke 125 cc single that puts out 6.4 KW at 7000 rpm and 9.8 NM of torque. The twist-and-go scooter features CVT and telescopic front forks, drum brakes at either end and revised aerodynamic styling. Under seat storage comprises of a 20 litre capacity while fuel tank capacity is 6 litres. The Swish 125 is priced at Rs 45,431, ex-showroom, Delhi and will be available from Suzuki dealerships by March 2012. The Access 125 will be sold alongside the Swish, with the latter pegged at a slight premium.
