When Kimi Raikkonen quit F1 at the end of the 2009 season, he said he'd only ever return to the sport if he was given a competitive car.
And by the looks of things, he spotted just the car he'd like. Raikkonen is reportedly impressed with the performance of the Renault F1 team and has approached them to discuss the possibility of partnering Robert Kubica in the 2011 season.
Renault team boss Eric Boullier has confirmed that talks certainly are on with Kimi, but the team still is keen on giving Vitaly Petrov a fair chance to prove himself in F1.
Since the start of the 2010 season, Kimi's been looking increasingly comfortable piloting a WRC car and it seemed like he was set to continue his motorsport career in rallying. But now that Renault might have a competitive package to offer him, the Iceman could be gunning for a return.
