Jaguar begins Christmas festivity by unveiling jet-powered sleigh for Santa

With Christmas round the corner, Jaguar Land Rover, the Tata Group’s luxury automaker, has revealed a new design for Santa’s sleigh, The Telegraph reported.

Called the F-Sleigh, the design draws heavily on Jaguar’s F-type sports car, but has skates instead of wheels and will be propelled by jet engines rather than reindeer.

Addressing the problem of the F-type’s tiny dicky, Jaguar has given the F-Sleigh a large open luggage compartment which is ideal for Santa Claus to transport his gifts.

Antlers attached to the windscreen pillars and a red nose that is embossed with the Jaguar logo and mounted on the front of the sleigh complete the Christmas theme.

The F-Sleigh was unveiled as a design sketch and an ice sculpture at an event in London which was held to introduce Jaguar’s 2016 range of branded merchandise.

Lindsay Weaver, Jaguar’s director of branded and licensed goods, said: “The amazing F-Sleigh may be a bit of Christmas fun, but it proves that Jaguar Land Rover is now creating much more than world-class cars.”

Jaguar isn’t the only car company to have tried to replace Santa’s transport, however. Ford tried the same trick a couple of years back, coming up with a design powered by its efficient 1.0-litre Ecoboost petrol engine.
