Hyundai's star at the Geneva Motor Show was the facelifted i20 and it's here already. The facelifted i20 has been launched at a lip-smacking price of Rs 4.73 lakh for the base 1.2 petrol and Rs 5.96 lakh for the base diesel version.
The new 'i-Gen i20' is available in up to 12 variants and is offered with a variable valve tech version of the 1.2-litre Kappa petrol, producing 82.9 bhp of peak power, while the 1.4-litre diesel version produces an identical 90 bhp, same as the last car. The automatic version, with the 1.4-litre, 98.6 bhp petrol motor continues as well. The top-end Asta version now comes with a rear parking camera, auto headlamps and rain sensing wipers as part of the standard kit.
On the outside, the facelifted i20 gets a different looking grille and headlamps as well as a revised front bumper and marginally spruced tail lamps and rear bumper. On the inside, it gets new switchgear for the centre console and a new audio unit with USB playback capability. The Asta version also comes with push-button start, leather gear knob and leather wrapped steering as part of the package.
