DSK Hyosung, as is the new identity of the Hyosung brand in India, has announced prices for the Hyosung GT 250R. At Rs 2.75 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the GT 250R will be Hyosung's cheapest offering in the country at present. It will be made available in 3 colours, and will be sold at all the 18 DSK Hyosung dealerships across the country.
DSK Hyosung has also revealed plans to import the engine and gearbox of the GT250R while manufacturing the rest of the motorcycle locally, which should bring the price of the GT 250R by a whopping 1.5 Lakh. Currently, the pricing of the GT 250R is a concern, considering its immediate competition, the Honda CBR 250R and the KTM Duke 200 (yes, the latter two are single-cylinder bikes, but the performance graph isn't all that far off) are over a lakh cheaper. As such, it is only more crucial that DSK address local manufacturing at the earliest.
For those who missed our review of the GT 250R (BSM, June 2012), briefly put, the bike imparts a 'big bike' feel, perhaps a bit too big for what is a 250cc twin-cylinder motor, and while it performs well, it leaves a bit to be desired on the quality front. If you like the way it looks, head right away to the nearest Hyosung dealership!
