The wait is over! We’ve been wondering what the Valentino Rossi - Ducati GP11 synergy was going to look like and now we know. And while the colours are most certainly what we expected, Ducati has given the design a more retro look than we could’ve anticipated. And it looks fantastic! Even the bodywork appears to be delightfully old-school, reminding us more of the lantern-jawed two-stroke 500s than the almost metrosexual 800s that we see today!
With way more than 200 bhp at the rear wheel, the 150-kg GP11’s Desmodromic V4 is never going to be short on power, so Rossi, Burgess, Preziosi & Co. will mainly focus on taming the wild nature of the GP11. How so? Well, a new frame, uprated suspension, better electronics and a new swingarm as well. And Filippo Preziosi, General Director, Ducati Corse has already stated that Rossi’s famously precise and detailed feedback has already started showing the way forward. Along with Jeremy Burgess and his dedicated band of mechanics, Rossi might just show us why he is still The Doctor. We can’t wait!
