The most evocative name in the world of supercars, Ferrari, has finally made its entry in India with the opening of its first showroom at Janpath in New Delhi.
A sprawling new showroom in the heart of Delhi, this first showroom will also act as the central point for Ferrari's operations in India. Shreyans, the distributors for Ferrari in India will start operations from this three-car display showroom and plans to expand to Mumbai early next year before opening showrooms in other parts of the country.
For its part, Ferrari is currently offering its whole range, minus the FF for the moment, since the first year's production has already been spoken for. The California Spider, F458 Italia and 599 range are now available with prices of each of these models starting as follows:
California: Rs 2.24 crore onwards
458 Italia: Rs 2.57 crore onwards
599: Rs 3.3 crore onwards
FF: Rs 3.41 crore onwards
(All prices are ex-showroom Delhi)
Ferrari's partner in India, Shreyans is an old hand in the luxury and supercar business. The firm is the Porsche and Ducati distributor for India and just few weeks ago began its operations with Maserati as well.
On its part, Ferrari said that the search for the right partner for the Indian market was the reason why cars from the prancing horse stable didn't make an official Indian entry, until now. Buyers can expect a typical waiting period of three to 12 months depending on model, spec and customisation levels.
