F1: Adrian Sutil gets suspended jail sentence

And so the courts have come to a decision. Adrian Sutil, the former Force India driver who just about lost his drive with the team to Nico Hulkenberg, has been found guilty of injuring Eric Lux. Apparently, after a fight broke out at a nightclub after the 2011 Chinese Grand Prix, Sutil caused injuries to Lux, then the co-owner of the Renault team (now Lotus) with a champagne glass.

Even though Sutil pleaded in court that he had tried to settle the matter with Lux out of court repeatedly, he was found guilty of the charges leveled against him and given an 18-month suspended jail sentence. In addition, he was also fined 200,000 euros which will be given to charity.

After the sentence was announced, Sutil declared that he would take some time out. Given the fact that he doesn't really have a Formula 1 seat in hand, this could be the last we see of the German driver. He did say that he also would consider trying something 'completely different'. Will the prodigious piano player turned racer take up music again? We wonder.
