Looks evil, doesn’t it? Ducati’s freshly-unveiled Diavel looks every bit like the devil himself after some rapid intake of massive amounts of steroids. And it has one target in its sights - the Yamaha V-Max. Mr. Max was unchallenged till this Italian thug came along.
It’s a massive motorcycle, which packs in 162 bhp from a typically Ducati Testastretta L-Twin engine. More importantly, the twin churns out 12.7 kgm of torque! When you consider the fact that this muscle bike is light for its class - 210 kgs dry - you know it will have some go to match the show.
As you can expect from a brand like Ducati, top-notch cycle parts and technology come into play. Use of LED lightning at various places, a humongous 240mm rear tyre, ride-by-wire throttle, slipper clutch, the signature Ducati trellis frame, custom 14-spoke alloys, Brembo monobloc brakes and Anti-Lock Braking system. Plus, there’s a PIN-code security, three-mode power delivery selector and then there’s the tasy Diavel Carbon featuring tricked out carbon fibre bits. Phew! And we’re still not done.
Look out for a proper, detailed feature in BSM’s December issue!
