Hyosung has quite a history in our country, with them first bringing in the Comet and Aquila in limited numbers with Kinetic as their backbone. After that and a short hiatus, they planned a comeback with Garware motors as their distributors here and that seemed to be going well. But not well enough apparently, as they've now chosen a new partner for their Indian venture. The Maharashtra based DSK group will be replacing Garware motors as the sole marketers and distributors of Hyosung bikes in India.
This tie-up means that the DSK group will also be taking over the manufacturing facilites in Wai as well as all 18 Hyosung dealerships across the country. These dealerships will be re-branded as DSK Motowheels outlets.
Apart from the current range of bikes, they also plan on launching a smaller displacement bike called the GT250R Comet on the 13th of this month.
