Buell’s quirky and out-of-the-box thinking was exactly what got customers interested in their motorcycles. After a rather abrupt and painful split from owners Harley Davidson, Buell wrapped up last year. Only to be back as Erik Buell Racing! Under Erik Buell, they’re back and how. Free from their overpowering Milwaukee owners, the designs are fresher and look more capable than ever before. And their slogan says just that – ‘Fiercely independent’.

Here’s the EBR 1190RS looking like it will eat every one of its 4-cylinder rivals alive on the racetrack. And from the specs, it sure does look like it will. When you have 176 kgs of motorcycle being hurled at the horizon by a 175 bhp liquid-cooled 1190cc V-Twin motor, the scenery goes past rather quickly. The compression is a hefty 13.6:1 on cylinders that are nearly 600ccs each.

Of course, all this isn’t cheap. Not even close. Nearly $40,000 for the base package, with $4000 for the carbon package. It might be expensive but goddam it looks good and surely will fly on the track. Looking at this, we’re sure Harley-Davidson will be regretting dropping the Buell line.
