BharatBenz, fresh from having sold 1,048 trucks in the last quarter of the 2012 calendar year is looking to up its game even further as it entrenches itself into the mass-market truck sector.
It has launched three new trucks two of those are rigids and one is a tipper based on Daimler Group Company Mitsubishi Fuso Canter trucks. The 914 and 1214 are designed for the rigid, haulage segment that constitutes a major chunk of all commercial vehicles sold in the country. The 1217 tipper rounds off the range of the new Light Duty Trucks it has launched today.
The nine-tonne GVW 914 and 12-tonne GVW 1214 are powered by the 4D34i, four-cylinder common rail diesel engine that produces 140 bhp while the 12-tonne 1217 tipper is powered by a 170 bhp version of the same engine.
