Harley Davidson, the famous Milwaukee-based manufacturer, announced that it will shut down production of Buell motorcycles permanently with immediate effect. The 100% Harley subsidiary, Buell, has been in the niche sports motorcycle business for the last 26 years and it is sad to hear that it’s on its way out. What started out as a small business with Erik Buell leading the way, Buell, with their determination to innovate, designed sporty off-beat motorcycles with new and fresh technology. The Buell demise can be attributed to the global economic turndown and as a result, lesser motorcycle sales.   Meanwhile, Harley Davidson also intends to sell off the premium Italian motorcycles brand, MV Agusta.   It’s a sad day for motorcycling as a passionate small motorcycle manufacturer shuts down and ends a superb line of innovative motorcycles. It has indeed come as a shock to the industry. Erik Buell, in an emotional video statement, is visibly moved. You can see the video here:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5i7JDNACtI
