Ache din ayenge, promises new Tata Motors president

Mayank Pareek, new head of the passenger vehicles business unit at Tata Motors, is confident of a recovery in demand in the coming months despite a 19 per cent fall in domestic sales this year.

Pareek joined Tata Motors in September after quitting India's largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, where he spearheaded sales and marketing for several years. He said one successful product launch could change perception about the Tata brand, which had taken a beating despite new product launches in the past few months.

"One great success dramatically changes the perception of a brand. Tata Motors has the inherent strength to build that. Ache din ayenge," Pareek said in a free-wheeling talk with reporters.
