Audi has unveiled the Q3 2.0T Quattro petrol at the 2012 Auto Expo. The company hasn't yet indicated what variants of the Q3 will make it to India. While they haven't revealed an exact timeline for their launch either, it has been indicated that it will happen in the second quarter of this year.
What is also known is that the car will be priced higher than its rival, the BMW X1 and the Q3 will also boast more features than the Beemer.
Audi has also declared that an important step for the company's India operations would be to achieve their targetted sales figure of overall 8000 units in the country by the end of 2012.
Also at the Audi pavillion was the Audi A3 e-tron concept that was unveiled. While this is a hybrid concept car, the production version of the same will not be a hybrid. The car will also be important to garner volumes for the German manufacturer and will be positioned below the A4. The Audi A3 is likely to be launched n 2013.
The Audi Q7 V12 TDi was also on display. It has been indicated that this SUV will be launched towards the end of 2012. The Q7 V12 Quattro is the most powerful diesel SUV in the world, according to Audi. The car comes powered by a 6.0-litre 12-cylinder TDi engine that makes 368 kW (500 hp) and develops 1000 Nm of torque between 1750 and 3250 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed tiptronic transmission.
