LGB Formula 4

Ashwin Sundar had a dominant weekend of racing at Round 5 of the championship, claiming three wins of three races. His final win ensured that he took home the championship title in the race, with one round of the championship still to go. Meanwhile, it is his Dark Don Racing team-mate Sarosh Hataria who lies second in the championship standings ahead of Saran Vikram.

LGB Formula 4 Championship standings:

Ashwin Sundar 186

Sarosh Hataria 132

Saran Vikram 106

Indian Touring Cars and Indian Junior Touring Cars

It was another weekend where Team Tiger Sports India completely dominated the proceedings. After claiming victory in race 1 on Saturday, Arjun Balu took a calm second win on Sunday too, ensuring that he won the Indian Touring Cars Title.

The IJTC class saw some surprises though, with Performance Racing's Raja winning Race 1. Win in Race 2 went to Feroze Khan who started from last on the grid.

ITC Championship standings:

Arjun Balu 168

N Leelakrishnan 117

Rajvirdhan 93

IJTC Championship standings:

Feroz Khan 173

Diljith 140

Fahad Kutty 137

Volkswagen Polo Cup

The Volkswagen Polo Cup races had an interesting line up - other than the regular grid, guest drivers included Armaan Ebrahim, 2011 Polo Cup Champion Vishnu Sundar, Ameya Bafna (who competed in the 2010 edition of the championship) and Akhil Khushlani, who recently won the Silverstone round of the JK Racing Asia Series.

While it was Avdumber Hede who started the race on pole position, Mumbai's karting ace, Ameya Walawalkar pipped him to the lead in Race 1 and finished on the top step of the podium. Saurav Bandhopadhyay finished third.

With Race 2 run in the reverse grid format, it was Akhil Khushlani who started on pole, and stayed right there till the chequered flag fell. However, Khushlani was handed a five-place grid penalty for a jump start, which meant that Rahil Noorani took the win. Walawalkar made it to second place, while Saurav Bandhopadhyay took third place.
