Renault India has increased the price of its best-selling Duster SUV by Rs 30,000 to 40,000. A statement by Renault India says that the price increase is due to rise in input and material costs, driven mostly by foreign exchange fluctuation. The rate change is effective October 1

Renault that has received over 20,000 bookings for its compact SUV has increased the price of its 1.6-litre petrol variant by Rs 30,000 while the diesel models have seen a rise of Rs 40,000. Renault India claims that all bookings made before the said date will continue to be honoured at the original price.

Meanwhile Renault India has increased the number of shifts for the Duster assembly line from two to three to meet the increased demand and reduce the waiting period. The vehicle is assembled at Renault-Nissan Alliance's plant at Oragadam in Chennai.
