I have a small confession to make. I love Hondas. That’s a silly thing to say at the beginning of a story in which I am comparing a Honda with a Hyundai. Actually it is not a small confession but a rather large one, as I am supposed to be unbiased! To hell with it; I can’t help it – I have to be honest to the reader, after all. So why do I love Hondas? Because they are more often than not brilliant cars to drive, as simple as that. Now that my personal tastes are established, do they reflect in the outcome of this comparison? Well, you could take the shortcut and go to the verdict. But it’s never as easy as that, right? So here we go...

i10 is having lot of rolling issues when u cross 80 ... its not sharp on the road and it is really tough when we reach 100. it can not take sharp corners ... i did not find this in Brio ... i feel brio belongs to level above ...

Dont make your article like a WWE wrestling match, there is one guy have the edge always but in the end, the other guy wins. I own an i10 from the last 3 years, but when i drove Brio, it was always the better car. A more realistic and clear article would always attract the readers than one trying to protect the inetersts of all the brands you re-view,

The Brio with ABS & Airbags is cheaper than the i10 (with ABS & Airbags). I must add that I'm pleasantly surprised with the Brio's competitive pricing.

Hondas are "brilliant to drive"? We accept the fact that you like your Hondas, but please dont use such obviously questionable adjectives to justify the same! Going through the review, I'd say there's been a 'forced draw' in some of the pages. Admit it - none of you will ever state categorically that a Hyundai is better than a Honda, for fear of being called a traitor. You do not have to try so hard to justify a car just because its a Honda. Elsewhere, a Honda is a cheap Japanese car which normally features a really good & smooth engine, somewhat like a Panasonic Washing Machine - the Brio in this case is an even cheaper version of the same. Its only in this country that people seem to get so worked up over it for some strange reason.

I have to agree with Chinmaya, but not to blame only your magazine, the others are pretty much the same. As for the review, more details on the cars behavior, specifications and interior feel will be appreciated, I also disagree that I10 is the better car. I test drove both vehicles and found the Brio to be the better car. I would also like to add, when you advice people on buying cars, please don't do it blindly. A lot of first timers actually believe your articles, some articles are good to read but not really useful. A comprehensive road test along with minute details such as the effect one gets when driving in real world conditions say a drive from Thane to Vikhroli on lbs marg or Kengeri to koramangala during the peak traffic. Cheers !

The Horror. The Horror

The brio weighs 930 kg and the taller i10 weighs just 860 kg. How did hyundai manage that. Anyway, i dont understant why hyundai and suzuki continue making tall, ugly cars. Maybe their designers have badly calibrated widescreen computer monitors, so their cars seem short while designing but end up tall in reality.

Since when did Honda's became brilliant to drive cars?? I thought that line is reserved for Fiats/Fords of this world. But, they do make very reliable cars, just like Toyota and even ownership cost is way less. You can maintain a Civic with what you spend on i10, that's how cheap it is to maintain Honda/Toyota cars. That's the biggest strength of these cars.

Well.. just for the fact that Honda's are extremely cheap to maintain it should be Brio without any doubt. Also as Chinmaya mentioned below Hyundai cars has this cheeky habit of developing steering rattles, especially i10/i20, which I believe they are still trying to find a solution without issuing a recall.

Ah Srini! Your honesty in choosing the i-10 is appreciated!

Thanks Chinmaya for your valuable suggestions. We are very well aware of the steering problems you have pointed out, however that does not mean we will vote for a car without merit. No car is perfect and one has to look at a car in its entirety rather than individual flaws. Just our two cents

an honest review,well executed

This is what I hate about magazines and have stopped buying one. You guys show everything rosy, but when the end user like me checkks for users review, we find cars like i10 and 120 have inherent steering issues, and handle like a boat. Why dont you guys point this when you are doing a comparo? There are other such issues, hope you guys get the point. That could be one of the reasons why, there is a drop in people commenting on your articles.
