Ford India has launched the Figo, its first true B-segment hatch in India at a mouth watering price tag. The base Figo 1.2 petrol (LXi) starts at Rs 3.49 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi, going up to Rs 4.42 lakh for the premium Titanium variant. The diesel starts at Rs 4.48 lakh and goes all the way to Rs 5.29 lakh for the top end variant (see detailed price listing below).

This puts this B-segment hatchback firmly in the same price range as the Chevrolet Beat, Maruti Suzuki Swift and Ritz and Hyundai i10.

Apart from the strong price positioning, the Figo is also being supported by a dealership network of 167 outlets in 97 cities. Ford has also worked hard towards its localisation, beginning with as high as 80 per cent at launch. This will mean that Ford can also offer a rather competitively priced after sales service.

Based on the Fiesta platform, the Figo is offered with two engines - a 1.2-litre 70 bhp Duratec petrol and a 1.4-litre Duratorq diesel with 68 bhp.

Great pricing by FORD, can be the game breaker... And i guess that\'s wat the strategy was... Last to announce the prices. Only grudge the performance is not comparable to the Multijet Diesel or for that matter K series Petrol from Suzuki.. But i guess they don\'t look at me as target customer... Enthusiasts like me don\'t attract anybody. Neways kudos to Ford for localization of 80% and smacking the price range. SMART and SMARTER

Compare to this segment Figo is best. Ford is always best in class for handling, driving and reliability. I bored with maruthi and hyundai. VW polo is new to indian market, that\'s why it could not meet indian market requirement.I checked Chevy beat, low inner space, two wheeler cluster and etc. i will buy Figo and i will recommend all my friends to buy Figo.

the price is too high than expectation better to go with maruti rits which has better brand value, better power, better mileage, better resell value and value for money car

But at bit little price less Tata is offering you fully loaded Indica Vista with airbags @ ABS etc.etc. which makes the deal hot & tricky.

Figo\'s pricing is good IMO. Now I am confused between Indica Vista Q\'Jet Aura ABS & Ford Figo TDCI Titanium. I won\'t mind shelling 10K-15K more for either of these if my requirements of good handling, safety, reliability & quality are fulfilled. Please help to choose.

There is a big BIG catch. None of the 4 variants (Petrol/Diesel) come with either: (1) Fog Lamps (2) Rear power windows (3) Alloy wheels Even the top variants do not have these (imagine using a manual window control even in the topmost variant). That is how they managed the price.

Finally, manufacturers start to price their cars on par with the European cost, and the Indian journalists are shocked! :-)

The top model rate(diesel) actually matches with polo entry diesel model.,,it has the very economic & good fiesta engine.........but styling is love or hate type...37 KMPL mileage run once again anyone, motoring are you listening.
