I too tried the same route, found it with some misses. Just as direced, take left side road of the Redhills flyover and in the middle of the flyover take left for Periyapalayam route, drive until TOLL and moment after toll take left for Periyapalayam, road is narrow but still ok. After reaching periyapalayam after the bus depot road will turn left to a bridge to reach uthukotai, road still narrow until uthukotai. After that the Puthur High way starts. The mistake I made now was after driving 20 Kms there is direction showing left for Nagari, I took it went to nagari and had lunch, actually you could have reached Kone which is another 8-10 Kms in the same high way, look out for an Arch on the left and drive in to it for another 4 Kms to reach Kone. You can also come other way from Nagari, drive to the bye pass and reach the high way and drive the around 20 Kms to reach the same Arch on the right side. Now what to see in Kone, you have two options, one is to have fun in the sprinking water at the foot hill or ust pay 50 Rs, take a guide walk up the hill and reach a natural swimming pool, its worth it a climb. This is an excellent route. Also chennaities can enjoy nearest natural waterfall. The roads are excellent. There are not much of trees in the andrapradesh part of the route. Maen, you have to enjoy the route for the first 30 kms. metallic road set by L&T... Dhamodharan Prabhakar

The road through Koyambedu is horrible...that was when the last time I did it... Venkat RV

Start from Koyambedu, catch the straight road, go on till the Red Hills flyover but don't go on up the flyower, go straight to reach Periyapalayam. Then continue down the village road which is narrow but good. Reach Uthukotai, then Nagari and then Kone. What a piece of road the last 30 Kms is, it's really like flying.
