I have tried this route 2 years back. It is along this route that I had my very worst accident.. Blew my knee!! So please heed the author's advice and remember 'easy does it' the route to Khed is pretty standard(hard to get wrong) .. there after you have a few alternate route to get to to Harnai. Some of these routes involve loading your bike onto a boat and crossing a creek!! Certainly exciting. near Dapoli there is an ancient abandoned mosque. locally knows as 'Phuti Masjid' stop a while and explore. just opposite to this masjid there are some good resturants for refeshments Latish P Sharma

If lots of twisties are what you're looking for, then this route is hard to beat. NH17 is legendary enough not to have to crow on about it, but once you turn off at Khed onto the state highway to Harnai, you'll discover a road that is superbly surfaced, sparsely populated and full of peg-scraping opportunities.
