After clinching the Rally Mexico for the fourth time in his career, and taking his first win of the 2010 season, Sebastien Loeb has managed to move into the lead of the WRC. The Citroen driver put in strong performances in the second half of the rally, taking the lead from initial leader Petter Solberg. Finishing in third place was Sebastien Ogier. While Mikko Hirvonen managed to win the first rally of the season, Rally Sweden, the Ford driver only managed a fourth place at Mexico.

Loeb managed to convert a 27 second overnight deficit to a 55 second advantage on the second day, which meant he was able to cruise to an easy victory by the end of the rally. Behind him, Solberg and Ogier fought hard, with the former managing to take a second-place with a scant advantage of 0.6s.

And keeping track of the ex-F1 driver, Kimi Raikkonen - the Finn had another DNF. To begin with Raikkonen managed to bend the steering arm of the car on the opening stage. Later on, he had to stop with a fuel system fault. Five stages later, Kimi had crashed and was out of the rally for good.

In the Production World Rally Championship category, Armindo Araujo battled Toshi Arai to take first place, while Arai had to be content with second place.
