With Kimi Raikkonen set to take a sabbatical from Formula 1 next year, there have been rumours flying around that the Iceman will switch to competing in the World Rally Championship. Kimi has already competed in one round of the 2009 World Rally Championship - the Rally of Finland.
But fellow Finn, Mikko Hirvonen believes that Raikkonen could do with more practice before he starts competing seriously in the WRC. Hirvonen has said that regular WRC drivers have a lot more practice and are used to driving to pace notes, and this is where Kimi is likely to lose out.
Timo Jouhki, Mikko Hirvonen's manager, also responsible for bringing Juha Kankkunen, Tommi Makinen, Toni Gardemeister and Jari-Matti Latvala into rallying also agrees that Kimi will need time to get up to speed.
But one thing is clear. Knowing the Iceman, if he's set his sights on the WRC, his fingers are in his ears already, blocking out all other criticism!
