The new V40, which will be shown to the world at the upcoming Geneva motor show, hails a new generation of Volvos to emerge after the automaker was taken over by the Chinese automaker Geely. Their focus hasn't shifted from making the safest cars possible though and you can bet this V40 comes packed to the gills with the latest in safety technology. Ever heard of a pedestrian airbag? Well, this one's got one. With that much thought put into the people outside, you can bet the people who sit inside the car are very well cocooned. Full Auto brakes, steering assist, low-speed collision avoidance system are all present to make your drive that much safer.
Apart from safety, efficiency and power also figure into the equation for this car. Engine options range from a very clean and efficient diesel engine to a 254 bhp T5 turbocharged petrol engine mated to either manual or automatic transmissions. They all come equipped with regenerative braking and a start-stop system to further increase their efficiency. The V40 looks to replace the C30 and possibly even the S40 models in Volvo's current line-up.
