VW has revived the Microbus and they're calling it the Bulli. Yes, that's a cute name and what is cuter is the way the thing looks! It is more like a compact MPV than a bus, but retro-cool is the operative word here and we like what we see.
The two tone paint, characteristic to the Microbus, has been carried over in a smart, edgy manner and those LED lamps gel with the theme rather well too.
It is powered, interestingly, by an electric motor that produces 114 bhp; enough to get you to a 100 kmph in 11.5 seconds. A full charge takes less than an hour and gives the Bulli a range of 300 km.
The Bulli is still very much a concept and is only likely to make it to production in 2014. But we're hoping someone at VW plonks a peppy 2.0 litre number under the hood and makes it a reality soon. We'd like ours in yellow please!
