Sick and tired of hearing jokes of how boring and dull Toyotas look? Well, it could become a thing of the past. With a free rein to go 'risque' and 'risky', the next wave of Toyotas are clearly the result of a sake party gone wild.
With a whole bunch of wild Lexus concepts and a Camry that isn't so tame, the Corolla is next for a complete rejig, doing away what all those previous generations have stood for; staid, reliable and 'best-suited-for-your-grandmom'.
The striking face of the Furia concept with its narrow headlights, a complete strip of daytime running lights from end to end, a sharp air-dam, highly raked A-pillar, big wheel arches and that curious kink on the C-pillar is a Corolla gone banzai! The concept has a wheelbase that is four-inches longer and the overall width is two inches greater. The 19-inch wheels fill in those big wheel arches we told you about while there are a whole bunch of carbon fibre accents all around. Of course, the production version won't get them, but we'd like if TRD offered them at your local dealer.
Meanwhile, the production Corolla is still some time away and we hope some of these wild, snazzy lines of the concept make their way onto it.
