1. Tata Nano
Okay, this was probably not much of a surprise to anyone, but the cheapest new car you can buy also happens to be the most fuel efficient petrol car you can buy. The only bad thing we can say about the Nano is about its lack of power steering which turns into quite the workout when you're parking. In every other situation though, the Nano does very well for itself. From shooting into gaps in the city to saving you money at the pumps, the Nano manages to do it all. Now we're just waiting for the diesel engined Nano to come along and nuke the market again.
How much does it cost: 1.56-2.15
How far would it go on a litre of fuel: 25.4 kmpl according to ARAI
