What is it?
The Dodge Dart with a Fiat badge on it
And I should care because?
Well, Fiat does have some room for a large sedan above the Linea. In essence, the Fiat Viaggio is an Italian sedan based on an American sedan, which in turn was based on an Italian hatchback. The Dart, in the US, aims to go head-on against the likes of the Chevrolet Cruze, Toyota Corolla and the Honda Civic. Considering Fiat’s ownership of the marque, we wouldn’t be surprised if this makes it into showrooms here. The Dart is powered by a range of petrol engines, starting with the base 2.0-litre engine making 160 bhp to the 184 bhp 2.4-litre unit. There’s also a 1.4-litre MultiAir engine available, which has been sourced from Fiat’s stable. If, and that’s a big if, it makes it here, there’s a possibility of a MultiJet diesel finding its way under the hood.
Should I jump for joy?
Not quite. You can maybe clap for joy though, if you’re a Fiat fan
