The Mercedes-Benz CLS started the whole luxury four-door coupe trend way back in 2004 and now the second generation CLS has been introduced into the Indian market to take on the other four-door coupes that have been launched since then. Priced at Rs. 67.67 lakhs, ex-showroom, Mumbai, the CLS 350 will be available with a 3498cc V6 petrol motor which produces 306 hp @ 6500 rpm along with 37 kgm of torque. The ‘7G-Tronic’ seven-speed transmission helps put the power down and the car does 0-100 kph in 6.1 seconds while the top speed is restricted to 250 kph.
Impressive technology is on offer here. The lighting system combines bi-xenon headlamps with 71 LED lamps which combine with ‘Adaptive Highbeam Assist’ to provide superior performance. The ‘Active Parking Assist’ enables the car to steer itself into parking spots with the help of reversing cameras and PARKTRONIC warning systems, all of it with driver intervention and monitoring. Additionally, the BlueEfficiency technology helps in keeping the car light and environmentally efficient. The aerodynamics also play a significant part in improving efficiency of the car.
