Tata launches the Venture MPV!
Rs. 4-5 lakhs; can seat upto 8 people; lots of features;

The Venture comes in5,7 and 8 seater options with upto 3 front-facing rows. It has a two-row HVAC unit, music system and a collapsible steering unit. It also has power steering, power windows, reverse parking aid, keyless entry and engine immobiliser.  The unique feature is its plug-in windows, a glass within glass unit found on vans like the VW Caravelle.


The turning circle of the Venture is 4.5 metres while the ARAI fuel efficiency figure stands at 15.42 kpl. Tata Motors has launched the Venture in three trims - CX, EX and GX. The top-end variant of the Venture is priced at Rs 5.07 lakhs, ex-showroom, Thane with 5 colours to choose from.

Looks a practical vehicle best suited for both passengers and cargo. Hope Maruti is gearing its R3, while HONDA SIEL and TOYOTA KIRLOSKARS should seriously contemplate of launching their 7/8 seater MPVs the FREED and VERSO respectively. Hope to see good competition in the country to try to beat our very own TATA

The Nano is finding it difficult to find acceptance coz it looks and feels like an auto-rickshaw. Wonder if this thing will find acceptance, given how it is based on the Ace and looks like it too. Price seems to be rather high too - you could probably get the car based Eco for the same price?
