Tata Motors has launched an all-new crossover in the Indian market called the Tata Aria. The crossover aims to blend all the strong points of a Sports Utility Vehicle, a sedan and a Multi Utility Vehicle into one package.

The Tata Aria is based on the new-generation Tata platform, with power being provided by a 2.2 litre common-rail diesel unit. The power output is 138 bhp and the torque figure sits strong at 32.7 kgm.

Tata claims it’s the first crossover in India with a four-wheel drive system. The ‘Adapterra’ 4x4 is a torque-on-demand system that helps distribute the torque evenly to all four wheels, which helps in maintaining grip and stability, both on and off the road.

The Aria offers three-rows of flexible theatre-style seating, with leather upholstery. The features list is very comprehensive - 6 airbags, Anti-Lock brakes with electronic brake distribution, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, automatic climate control, cruise control, reverse guide camera...

In terms of firsts, it’s the first sub-15 lakh vehicle to feature electronic stability program (ESP), with comprehensive safety features and an in-dash GPS navigation system.

It will be available in 3 trims - Pride, Prestige and Pleasure.
The prices have been announced -

Rs. 13.18 lakhs, ex-showroom, Pleasure variant.

Rs. 15.85 lakhs, ex-showroom, Mumbai for Pride variant.
