Tata Motors today launched the Venture MPV in Mumbai today, making Maharashtra only the second market after Rajasthan. Priced at Rs 5.07 lakhs, ex-showroom, Thane, the Venture is powered by a 1.4-litre TDi diesel engine as found on the Indigo and Indica Turbo. It produces 69 bhp@4500 rpm and 13.7 kgm@2500 rpm.
The Venture's aggressive price is thanks to its sub 4 metre length that helps the vehicle fall in the 10 per cent excise bracket. Targetted at users who have looked at MUVs in the Rs 5-6 lakh as well as hatchbacks, Tata Motors claims that the Venture offers good space and features at a competitive price. It also has power steering, power windows, reverse parking aid, keyless entry and engine immobiliser.
