Okay, before you start asking, the possibility of a car based on the new Suzuki Swift S-Concept making it to India is remote, so delving into it might be... er, in vain. But we can lust after something that we can hope to do to our new Swifts post June-2011, no?
Enter the Swift S-Concept. Shown at the Geneva Motor Show, it likely looks to be a Europe-specific hot hatch to possibly replace the Swift Sport series. No engine specs have been discussed, but what we can hazard is that a highly tuned 1.6-litre four-banger could find its way under the hood. Maybe turbocharged even. Mated to a six-speed manual transmission, this front-wheel driver should spin its front-wheels hard enough to leave the Swift in a white cloud.
To enhance the sportiness further, the car now sits some 30 mm lower and is 60 mm wider. Sitting on 18-inch wheels, the 3.9-metres long Swift does look the part... er, we didn't need to tell you that now, did we? Anyway, so we shall get the 1.2-litre petrol and the 1.3-litre diesel motors and the world shall be a happy place. Or alternatively, we can run around with a body kit and/or coax more power out of them until someone decides to raid an SX4 parts bin and come back with a 1.6-litre motor. Sounds like a plan, doesn't it?
