ENGINE DETAILS

The Nissan Sunny in China will be powered by a 1.5-litre HR15DE engine with dual injectors and a new-generation Xtronic CVT with an auxiliary transmission, both of which are newly introduced in China. The company claims that the Sunny delivers ease in handling for city driving where there is frequent acceleration and deceleration, and superior environmental performance as a projected class leader in fuel economy.

Looks much better and more premium than Dzire and Etios anyday. Is it in this segment or that of SX-4/Vento/City??

I guess Nissan has lost its mind in the design department...hard to believe that they are the guys who gave the World the GT-R!!

Its a really good car and looks better than Micra which does not look as good as was expected and as it from Nissan it is a reliable car and one that can do good against Toyota Etios and is diesel version is also launched then it will really do very good in India.

This Sunny still looks inferior as always. Nissan should have let the Sunny branding stay in its grave. Why dig it up again? Dark, damp clouds comes to mind just thinking about the Nissan Sunny!

It is difficult to clear your mind Sumon, but I don’t intent to do it even. Being a product found well acceptance in over 160 countries world-wide and that too for over 4 decades, it can’t be a bad product. It is high time that we should change our mind-set and the bias towards a new product. One should see the Sunny as a car in the range of the Dzire or to the high level to the recently launched Vento. When you talk about the Datsun, do you see any relation between the Wagon R and Ritz, Alto & A-Star or the Esteem & Swift – world over, Suzuki phased out the Wagon R for the Ritz, Alto for A-Star and the old Esteem to the Swift – but here for our Indians all are different products! So don’t go that long to criticize the Sunny – let it come first.

Wonderful product. Had driven the Sunny while in Brunei some years ago and found to be a reliable car. If I reply to Sumon it should be like this: Thatz a bad statement, Sumon. I dont think, Sunny is a bad car. World over, it has been successful and I think in India too. Didn't you see, how different it is from the Micra (to say, it is not a 'Micra with a boot' as in Dzire). We Indians dont accept a good product, but tend to say 'all products of Maruti' are best!. Come, on Sumon, see the world!!

@dinesh:The Sunny from its Datsun days was successful only because it was cheap. It was just a student car. It was a dull car and it still looks dull in its new avatar. This car will never sell well in Western Europe if it was badged as a Sunny. The reason, it brings back depressing memories.

After succesfull launch of nissan micra now i think it's time for sunny to roll over in india and china's road.
