Renault's plans for India didn't exactly take off the way they planned, but they hope their fortunes change with the launch of the Duster. They already have over 50 dealerships in the country and by the end of the year, they hope to double that figure, so here's hoping there's a change in the tide for them.
The Duster comes quite loaded for what it is, too, with dual-airbags, ABS, steering mounted audio controls and even a rear AC among other features on the top-end models. The petrol models come powered by a 102 bhp, 1.6-litre, four-cylinder unit mated to a five-speed transmission while the diesel variants get a 1.5-litre engine in two states of tune.
The 84 bhp versions are mated to five-speed transmissions while the 108.4 bhp units come with six-speed transmissions. The small SUV starts at a mouth-watering price of Rs 7.19 Lakh for the base petrol-powered cars while Rs 7.99 Lakh gets you diesel power.
