Take one small hatchback, give it a high-revving small engine, keep the weight as low as possible and you end up with a recipe for a fun hot-hatch. That's exactly what Peugeot did with the 205 GTi and that's what this new 208 GTi concept, to be shown at the Geneva motor show this year, aims to do too.

It's got all the styling cues to set it apart from the normal 208 all right, There's a French flag (the union jack if you're buying in the UK) on the front bumper, aluminium GTi badges all around and large wheels with red brake calipers showing through.

Providing the go for this car is a 1.6-litre engine, which doesn't seem like much now, but couple that with the light weight of the car and a slick shifting six-speed gearbox and you've got yourself a fun hatch. The sporty cues carry on to the inside of the car also, with perforated Napa leather adorning the seats with red accent stitching to round out the package.

Now this is one car we definitely comes over when Peugeot comes to India.
