Michael Perschke has been appointed as the head of Audi in India, the company said in a statement today. This is with effect July 1st, it said. Perschke will replace Benoit Tiers, who will move to Paris as head of Audi, France, the company said.
For Perschke the move to India will be his second in thirteen years. The last time he was in India was during 1997 to 2000, when he was general manager at rival Mercedes Benz. At that time, he was responsible for network development and regional sales in the subcontinent.
The 42-year-old German citizen joined Audi in 2008, where he was responsible for the European Service Network Project with the target of improving service quality in the region. This was a position he held till date, the company said.
Married, Perschke holds degrees in business administration and economics from Germany and London respectively.
