hi chetan, track is the distance between two parallel wheels, so front track is the distance between the centres of front wheels n same for rear track. it's one of the parameter for the better stability of a 4 wheel vehicle, nowadays one of the important criteria for safety standards. if u take 2 cars A & B of same model, but increase the track of A w.r.t B, u'll find A corners much better then B, sideway body roll z minimal w.r.t B. eg,hyundai i10 corners relatively better then santro due to increased wheel track n keeping the wheelbase(distance between the centres of front n rear wheel) unchanged.

it's more or less the dimension of honda jazz, 50mm shorter in length same width, 5mm taller and wheel base is 60mm less then jazz with same wheel track but oppositely placed- not bad. good to know that cars are still growing.Better if it run parallel with the current swift other then replacing it, the rear of new swift is different but not to everones taste.

Hmmm...Words like 'dynamic', 'evolved', 'thoroughly revised', 'sharper' have really ceased to mean anything. Both designers and users need to try and stop this insanity of upgrades and revisions and so forth that are at best marginal changes that neither add significantly to performance nor aesthetics nor comfort. I guess the increased width of the Swift would mean that rear passengers can now wear Corduroy instead of Terrycot and still not feel cramped! I am reminded of Gillette ads. It seems that in the last 75 years or so, some 100-odd ads have been generated - each with jaded adjectives like "New!", "The ultimate shaving sensation!" blah, blah. It turns out that "ultimate" means lasting six weeks!! Doc
