Well, it's the 27th of July, and as we said eariler, BMW unvelied the new 3 Series to its Indian customer base. Unlike what we said earlier though, they also revealed the prices today. The car was unveiled by master blaster Sachin Tendulkar who is now the brand ambassador for BMW in the country.
There will be two engine options on offer here starting with the base diesel option, which is the 320d. It comes with a 2.0-litre diesel engine making 181 bhp while the 328i is the larger petrol engine on offer with 2425 bhp on tap. Both of these will come mated to eight-speed automatic transmissions only though.
The 3 Series will be sold in five different trims for the moment. The 320d, 320d Sport Line, 320d Luxury Line, 320d Luxury Plus and the 328i Sport Line. Prices for the car range from Rs 28.9 Lakh to 37.9 Lakh, All-India ex-showroom prices. Here are the detailed prices as under:
320d: Rs 28.9 lakh
320d Sport Line: Rs 31.5 lakh
320d Luxury Line: Rs 31.5 lakh
320d Luxury Plus: Rs 36.9 lakh
328i Sport Line: Rs 37.9 lakh
The new 3 Series comes with a host of standard features, including auto Start-Stop technology, EcoPro, electric power steering, i-Drive wth a 16.5 cm colour display, memory seats and dual-zone air-conditioning among others.
The 3 Series also comes with features like rear-view camera, electric seats with bolstering (for the 328i Sport), eight airbags, and a choice of seven colours. The company claims an ARAI approved fuel efficiency figure of 18.88 kpl for the diesel and 14.79 kpl for the petrol.
The new 3 Series won't be the only launch this year as the company gears up for two more launches later this year, the facelifted versions of the 7 Series and the X1 being the candidates.
