Mercedes-Benz launched the S 400, a new variant of its flagship luxury model, the S-Class, in Hyderabad on Tuesday. Dubbed ‘the best car in the world,’ the S-Class portfolio in India now becomes the most comprehensive, with the addition of the all-new S 400.
The model has a price tag of Rs.1.31 crore (ex-showroom Hyderabad). The flagship S-Class epitomises opulence, indulgence and automotive magnificence. With the launch of the S 400, Mercedes-Benz underlines once again its brand promise of ‘best or nothing’. The S 400 was launched by Roland Folger, managing director and CEO, Mercedes Benz India and Yashwant Jhabakh, group chairman, Mahavir Motors.
“Mercedes-Benz believes in introducing the latest products and variants in the market at regular intervals, to keep customer interest and curiosity intact in the brand,” said Folger. “This strategy we firmly believe has contributed to our unmatched success in India. With the launch of the S 400, we further extend the S-Class model range and also bolster our strong presence in the prestigious S-Class segment.”
According to him, the S-Class has always set standards that have retained its accolade as "the best automobile in the world" with each generation. “We are excited to introduce the ninth variant of our flagship model for them,” he said.
“The S 400 will be locally manufactured in our world-class production facility in Chakan, Pune. This is yet another firm affirmation of our vision of ‘make in India’, and our unwavering commitment to the Indian customer in presenting the best of our global offerings.”
