Mercedes' smallest car yet for the Indian market has just been launched. The B-Class, which will slot in below the C-Class, aims to compete directly with the other entry level german luxury cars.
The B-Class is what Mercedes-Benz calls a Sports tourer, which is basically a large hatchback. It will come with a 1.6-litre petrol engine making 120 bhp of peak power routed through a 7-speed DCT transmission (the same transmission which helps the SLS AMG send its power to the rear wheels!). In India, this will also be the first Front Wheel Drive Mercedes on sale.
Prices for the B180 start at Rs 21.49 Lakh for the standard version and go up to Rs 24.87 Lakh for the Sport trim. (All prices are ex-showroom, Mumbai)
Sound tempting? Well, you'll have to wait till January of 2013 to book one as all 250 of the cars allotted for this year have already been spoken for.
