Another great Italian brand has made its entry into India. Maserati, once known for naming its cars after the various winds that blow across different parts of the world is now in India at a price that starts at Rs 1.2 crore to Rs 1.4 crore.
With three models on offer in India - the Quattroporte, the GT and GranCabrio, Maserati's entry represents pretty much the entire model range on offer across global markets. The Quattroporte saloon is priced in the range of Rs 1.23 to 1.43 crore, the GranTurismo from Rs 1.2 to 1.37 crore and the GranCabrio is priced at Rs 1.43 crore.
Maserati will begin operations by opening its first showroom in Mumbai later this year and a second one in New Delhi next year. Eventually, Maserati will be present across seven locations in India by 2015. Represented by Shreyans Motors who are also the distributors for Porsche, Ducati and Ferrari for India, the company hopes to sell about 100 units of the car at the end of the first year of operations.
Maserati, which is present in 63 countries sold over 5700 cars globally last year. The US which is its largest market was responsible for over a third of those sales.
